Never, ever grow old
”Susan and I met in 2007. She lived in a Mountain View townhouse and I was living on my Lidgard 18m sailboat. We fell in love, got married, moved into her town home, sold the Lidgard and settled down to a nice sedentary life. Not exactly…
We did all of the above but after 18 months without a sailboat we decided we needed a boat. So, we searched for a year before we found ‘our’ first boat, a 1983 Cal 39 Mark 3 and named her Wind Song.
Fast forward 13 years. We sold Wind Song, purchased our cruising boat, a 1994 Catalina Morgan 45 that had already circumnavigated, in August 2017 in Key West and on September 8th Irma came ashore 50 miles to the east in Marathon. We named her Mystic.
We have Facebook and Youtube presence but wanted a more control over how and to whom we post. So we have created our own social site. It may have a limited life or maybe it can be a place for family, friends and sailors that avoids the seductive data traps of all the other social sites.
For now, after intense debate, workshops, and focus groups (no, not really) we are calling our space the Fo’csle as this was a traditional place for sailors to congregate and share stories.
Meet you on the Fo’csle!
